sue filbin nature printing class wed 3/14/12

We met at 6:30 Wednesday night for class on Nature Printing. I had a fun time taking pictures, talking to the guests, enjoying stories, watching everybody get into nature print making.
I had a fabulous time. I hope everyone else did. Sue Filbin did a great job of supervising and teaching 16 newbies. Now I know better what it's like to herd cats. hahahaha.
The Art Salon is turning out to be a wonderful safe environment to meet new friends, have some laughs, some serious discussion and a good time.
Thank you all for coming.

steampunk

Allen (steampunk) James

Saturday evening we were over at our friends Allen and Judy's home.

Allen is getting into steampunk sculpture.  He's working on a sculpture of an airplane.

We had a wonderful time learning about steampunk art.

Great fun was had by all.

Nothing like good friends, good art, good wine and chocolate.

The coming week

Sunday Morning Coffee.
Ahhh, the first cup of coffee.
The pain from my slipping is finally easing up.

Thinking about next week - - the Salon and Sue Filbin, Nature printer will be a great time for all.

Looking forward to learning a new art and anticipating being able to use it this coming spring.

It is so thoughtful of Sue to share her time and her talents with us.  Sue has been a great friend of the Art Salon from the very beginning.

THANK YOU SUE.

Camera Lens or Lack Thereof

Looking at  yesterday's post and picture,  I noticed that my camera lens needs to be clean so I went to get my lens and remembered - - ohhhh it's at the bottom of a lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Northern Minnesota.

But that's another story.

Photo above is Lake Atitlan, Guatemala circa 1999.

Musings about spring

March 9, 2011 a.m.
Sitting, looking out my window this morning dreaming about
leaves on trees,
summer,
fun things to do,
mentally planting my garden.

Going to get a cup of coffee. Moving my body.
Pain from head to toe after slipping on the ice yesterday morning.

So much for the joys of winter.

Here's a toast to a very early spring, say like starting tomorrow.

Cheers,
Karl
